United Living – Case Study – Solar ecowelfare

The Requirement

United Living, aiming for Net Zero operation by 2030, sought innovative solutions to enhance sustainability across its operations, including construction site welfare facilities.

Traditional diesel-powered welfare cabins posed challenges in terms of carbon emissions, operational noise, and maintenance costs.

The Solution

Boss Cabins collaborated with United Living to introduce the ecowelfare 12ft Canteen with Twin Toilets, powered by euroloo’s Solar Powered Generator Free technology.

This solution was trialed at the Ewart Estate worksite in South London, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional diesel-powered units.

The cabin was equipped to operate entirely on solar power, eliminating the need for a generator and significantly reducing CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.

The Conclusion

The Generator Free Solar Powered ecowelfare unit by Boss Cabins, in collaboration with ecowelfare, has proven to be an effective, sustainable solution for construction site welfare.

It aligns with United Living’s Net Zero goals by reducing carbon emissions, lowering operational costs, and minimizing noise pollution.

This case study underscores the potential for innovative, environmentally friendly solutions to transform site operations, paving the way for a more sustainable construction industry.

The trial demonstrated remarkable environmental and financial benefits:

  • Avoidance of over 667 kg of CO2 emissions.
  • Savings of 211 litres of fuel, equating to significant cost reductions.
  • Reduction in servicing needs due to innovative rain harvesting, grey water recycling, and water-saving technologies, resulting in further financial and environmental savings.
  • Enhancement of community and worker satisfaction through silent operation, reducing noise pollution in residential areas.
