Introduction
SDE Group, a premier provider of bespoke design, manufacturing and installation services, is dedicated to combining operational excellence with environmental responsibility. In pursuit of this vision, the company set out to enhance on-site welfare provisions while minimising its carbon footprint.
The Requirement
SDE Group required modern welfare facilities that would provide essential amenities including canteens, toilets and dry rooms, while aligning with its strong sustainability goals. Traditional diesel-powered welfare units were inconsistent with their green ethos, necessitating a more energy-efficient solution.
The Solution
In collaboration with ecowelfare, SDE Group introduced four fully solar-powered welfare units to their operations. These self-sufficient units offered a clean, quiet and sustainable workspace for site teams, significantly reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
The Conclusion
- Zero fuel costs – 100% solar-powered units eliminated the need for diesel generators
- Over 432 litres of fuel saved – Reducing operating costs and fuel dependency
- More than 1.3 tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided – A meaningful step toward SDE Group’s environmental objectives
- Improved workforce welfare – Comfortable, well-equipped spaces to support site teams
Â
By deploying solar-powered welfare units, SDE Group not only improved the wellbeing of its workforce but also demonstrated a clear commitment to sustainable practices. These innovative units provide essential amenities with minimal environmental impact, supporting cleaner, more responsible site operations.
