Introduction
Scotts Hire, a leading provider of high-quality site equipment hire, is committed to sustainability and operational excellence. To improve on-site welfare while reducing environmental impact, the company sought an eco-friendly alternative to traditional diesel-powered welfare units.
The Requirement
Scotts Hire needed welfare facilities that offered essential amenities including toilets and a canteen, without compromising their sustainability goals. The reliance on diesel generators was inconsistent with their environmental values, prompting the search for a cleaner, more efficient solution.
The Solution
In partnership with ecowelfare, Scotts Hire deployed a fully solar-powered 12ft welfare unit featuring a canteen and two toilets. This self-sufficient, eco-friendly unit provided all necessary facilities while dramatically reducing fuel use and emissions.
The Conclusion
- Zero fuel costs – 100% solar-powered, eliminating diesel use entirely
- Over 76 litres of fuel saved – Cutting operational costs and reducing reliance on fossil fuels
- More than 243kg of CO₂ emissions avoided – Supporting Scotts Hire’s sustainability goals
- Enhanced workforce welfare – Delivering modern, comfortable facilities for on-site teams
Â
By integrating solar-powered welfare units into their operations, Scotts Hire reinforced its commitment to sustainability while enhancing on-site conditions. These energy-efficient units offer a practical, greener solution for today’s construction and infrastructure projects.
