Introduction
Open Plan Renovation is dedicated to delivering high-quality renovation and refurbishment services with a strong emphasis on sustainability. To support its on-site teams, the company sought an eco-friendly welfare solution that aligned with its environmental goals.

The Requirement
Open Plan Renovation needed welfare facilities that provided essential amenities while minimising environmental impact. Traditional diesel-powered units conflicted with their sustainability commitments, necessitating a cleaner and more efficient alternative.
The Solution
Partnering with ecowelfare, Open Plan Renovation introduced two fully solar-powered 12ft welfare units, each equipped with a canteen, a single toilet, and a dry room. These innovative units offered practical, self-sufficient, and environmentally friendly workspaces, significantly reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
The Conclusion
- Zero fuel costs – fully solar-powered, eliminating reliance on diesel
- Over 106 litres of fuel saved – reducing operational expenses and environmental impact
- More than 337kg of CO₂ emissions avoided – supporting Open Plan Renovation’s sustainability initiatives
- Improved workforce welfare – providing comfortable and well-equipped spaces for on-site teams
Â
By adopting solar-powered welfare units, Open Plan Renovation successfully enhanced site conditions while furthering its environmental commitments. These units delivered essential amenities without reliance on fossil fuels, fostering a cleaner and more sustainable working environment.
